AFC Bournemouth are set to revive their interest in Chelsea goalkeeper Asmir Begovic at the end of the season.

The Cherries had reportedly made a bid that Chelsea were willing to accept during the January transfer window.

However a deal could not be concluded as Chelsea were unable to sign a replacement back up goalkeeper prior to the transfer window closing.

Whilst the transfer window was open, Begovic publicly stated that he wanted to leave Chelsea in search of regular first team football.

The Bosnia-Herzegovina international said…

‘I have spoken with the boss (Chelsea manager Antonio Conte) – we are quite open about it, he knows I am desperate to play, and that’s all it is really. If he can make it happen for me he will. (click here for previous article).

According to the Mirror, whilst the deal couldn’t be made possible during January there is a chance it will be completed during the summer.

The Mirror have stated…

‘Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe is set to return for Chelsea`s £10million keeper Asmir Begovic in the summer. ‘

‘Howe – who has kept faith with the players that earned them promotion – intends to address the team`s defensive deficiencies in the summer.’

Apparently Watford also made a move for him. I think we may struggle to beat others to his signature come summerJoin the conversation here.
