AFC Bournemouth booked their place in the final four of the Hampshire Senior Cup with a 3-1 away victory over Horndean.
The victory puts the Cherries in the semi-finals draw alongside Conference South outfits Gosport Borough and Farnborough and Southern League side Sholing.
The Cherries who named former AFC Bournemouth captain Miles Addison and Mohamed Coulibaly in the starting line up, had to come from behind when Horndean took the lead during the first half.
Gary Austin opened the scoring for the non league side after a long ball had beaten the Cherries defence, leaving Austin to round Holmes before slotting home.
That lead lasted until half-time but a resurgent AFC Bournemouth side scored twice in a minute to turn the tie on its head. Both goals came through Harry Cornick.
The first was set up by Mohamed Coulibaly, the second by Sam Matthews.
Josh O’Hanlon put the game beyond doubt with ten minutes to go.
AFC Bournemouth XI: Holmes, Lee, Addison, Kaye, Harfield (Muleba 71), M Coulibaly (O’Hanlon 71), Matthews, Butcher, Whitfield (A Coulibaly 86), Walsh, Cornick.
AFC Bournemouth development coach Stephen Purches told the Daily Echo…
“We dominated possession for pretty much the whole game but in the first half we probably did not move the ball quickly enough.
“Their goal came from a long ball which was disappointing because they hit us with a few of those and overall we stood up to it quite well.
“We changed things round at half-time to try and make sure we played with more speed and to be fair to the players, they stuck with it and believed in what they were doing on a difficult pitch.
‘In the end it was a comfortable win.
