All week the media chat was how well Manchester City had started the season under new manager Pep Guardiola, indeed they have won every game in style in all competitions.
Despite playing their Champions League tie v Borussia Moencheongladbach one day late due to a waterlogged pitch,City lined up with a very strong squad,Pep giving a debut to new signing Gundogan from Dortmund.
Cherries after gaining their first win after beating a poor West Brom side the previous Saturday tweaked the line up slightly, with Jack Wilshire replacing Callum Wilson for his first start of the season, the line up looking more a 4-4-1-1 than the straight 4-4-2 of the previous week.

The game started brightly for City ,with De Bruyne being released straight from kick off,his stinging drive being parried away by the increasingly impressive Boruc to save Cherries blushes.
Bournemouth did their level best to retain some posession and get some attacks moving, but were finding it increasingly difficult to keep the ball, being pressed high by City at every opportunity, with the lone Josh King up front feeding on scraps.
City soon took the lead,on the quarter hour mark,Wilshere at fault losing the ball in midfield and petulantly bringing down his opponent on the edge of the box.
You cannot give teams like City opportunities like this and sure enough DE BRUYNE stepped up and drilled a low shot underneath the wall who had jumped out of the way expecting a curled effort.
This settled City down who were by now playing some exquisite football, the deflated Cherries players just doing their best to stem the tide.
The second goal soon came, and again Wilshire at faulting the 25th minute, losing the ball ,City broke quickly ,finding Sterling in acres of space and unselfishly squaring to IHEANACHO for a mis hit tap in.
It was all that City deserved, with Cherries not at the races at all.
Half time came, and the talk amongst the fans at half time was how many City would score.
As always is the case when you are 2 goals down, the next goal is important,if Cherries could nick a goal somehow, they would be back in the game,if City score ,it’s game over.
Cherries made one change, the ineffective Ibe being replaced by Callum Wilson, with King replacing him on the wing.
Unfortunately it was City who scored a third 3 minutes into the second half,City hitting Cherries with a devastating break,De Bruyne given acres of space releasing Iheanacho, who crossed for STERLING to convert from close range in a carbon copy of the second goal.
Now it was just damage limitation for Cherries, with Wilshire being hauled off and replaced by Dan Gosling, with still a quarter of the game to play,we really needed to stem the tide.
By now most of the fight had disappeared ,deflated Cherries trying to attack but being ruthlessly dispossessed time after time.
City added a fourth on the 66th minute, debutant GUNDOGAN finishing off a beautiful passing move by stroking the ball past Boruc after City’s midfield had cut through Cherries like a knife through butter.
There was a bit more incident ,with Callum Wilson hitting the crossbar ,and Harry Arter pulling a low shot wide as Cherries seemed some sort of consolation for the travelling faithful.
As the game neared it’s conclusion,City were reduced to ten men after a touch line altercation,a needless headbutt on the impressive Adam Smith gave NOLITO a straight red card and a three game ban.

So in summary,Cherries were ruthlessly brushed aside by a team that are probably now favourites to win the title, will probably challenge for the Champions League, and any other cup going.
For me,despite the opposition,it was a disappointing performance, again we looked like we were beaten before we even started the game, and didn’t perform anywhere near the levels we are capable of right from kick off.
Team selection….was this really the game to start a clearly unfit Jack Wilshere? I think most fans would have expected him to be on the bench and maybe go a bit more defensive.
Where are our new signings?
We are still persisting with much the same team that finished last season so poorly, have spent heavily since January but with the exception of Ibe and Wilshere, none are deemed good enough to start.
We also have a couple of players way off form, namely Surman and Daniels for me,yet they start week in and week out.
Everyone likes to play manager,I would have liked to have seen 5 at the back, with the full backs man marking the two wingers, with the experience of Marc Wilson in the centre.
I would have liked to have seen Daniels dropped for Brad Smith, and Surman for either Ake or Cook.
Also the inclusion of Stanislas on the wing is baffling when we have the quality of Gradel on the bench.
In Eddie we trust I know, but I fear if he doesn’t start being a bit ruthless soon,we will find ourselves bottom three soon enough.
We seem to have lost our zip that we had,and our exciting football, and we are playing dull, predictable football with little flair and penetration.
That’s just my take on things as it stands.

Boruc 7 looks confident, handling well, distribution good, could do nothing about the goals.
Smith 9 busy performance, always positive, strong, trying to make things happen,a real handful.
Francis 6 did nothing wrong really, exposed by the midfield.
Cook 6 ditto.
Daniels 4 out of form, looks slow ,poor positionally, turned inside out and outpaced time and again
Ibe 4 ineffective, but not particularly well fed.
Arter 8 tried his best but very let down by his midfield partners
Wilshere 4 ineffective,at fault for 2 goals,in my opinion, unfit, not the game for him to start
Surman 4 pedestrian,never passes forward,never shoots,doesn’t put his foot in,too safe.
Stanislas 5 baffling that he gets in front of Gradel and Fraser,he has a bit of pace, little else for me.
King 8 tried his best on his own but with poor service, always looks a threat

Subs
Wilson for Ibe 8 slowly getting back to the old Callum, will be disappointed not to have started.
Gosling for Wilshere 6 not sure how he keeps getting on the pitch when we have better.
Gradel for Stanislas 6 why isn’t he starting?
