As previously reported, AFC Bournemouth striker Lewis Grabban has apparently been Nottingham Forest’s number one transfer target this summer.

Even the signing of Algerian international striker Hillal Soudani from Dinamo Zagreb had not lessened their interest with the Nottingham Post insisting that this was the case.

That report now appears to be correct with AFC Bournemouth and Nottingham Forest agreeing on a reported fee of £6million for the 30-year-old striker.

If that fee is correct, it will mean that AFC Bournemouth has virtually recouped all of their transfer fee to Norwich City when Grabban returned to Dean Court in January 2016.

Since his return to the Cherries in January 2016 from Norwich, Grabban has made 79 appearances scoring 24 goals.

However only 22 of those appearances and just 1 goal have come whilst playing for AFC Bournemouth, instead, he has enjoyed loan spells at Reading, Sunderland and Aston Villa.

Two of those loan spells ended with unsuccessful Championship Play-Off appearances, as Grabban continues to be a regular goalscorer in the second tier of English football.

It would appear that any Championship side could prove to be a good fit for Grabban.

The Nottingham Post believe that Grabban is now set to have a medical with the Championship side after already agreeing on personal terms.

That report added…

…Grabban is expected to undergo a medical at Nottingham Forest tomorrow, ahead of putting pen to paper on a deal…

The report added…

Should he pass his medical, Grabban would then sign either a straight four-year deal or a three-year contract with the option of a fourth year at the City Ground.
