Oldham Athletic Goalkeeper/Fitness Coach Anthony White has joined the backroom staff at AFC Bournemouth.

According to the 24 year old’s Twitter profile, White will be the Cherries Assistant Goalkeeping Coach & Goalkeeping Specific S&C Coach.

White has previously studied at Staffordshire University for a Psychology BSc Studying Sports Science MSc.

Following his departure from Oldham, White told oldhamathletic.co.uk

“It has been extremely tough to leave Oldham, a club which is more than just a place of work, but a club where I have gained so many close friends.

“Oldham was where I began playing full time football, and I was given an incredible opportunity for the last two and a half years as a first team coach.

“Without Oldham I would not have been able to achieve the opportunity to coach in the Premier league. The chairman, Simon Corney, put trust in me back in 2013 and his support and friendship has been a major factor in my progression…’

‘…Thank you to all. Oldham Athletic will always be my home club, but I am humbled and honoured at this exciting opportunity at AFC Bournemouth.”

‘it looks like he was doing two jobs there, goalkeeping coach and fitness coach

We advertised for Goalkeeper analyst a little while, it seems likely this is what he’ll be doing

There’s no way Oldham could afford (or want) a fitness coach for just their goalkeepers
