Whilst Artur Boruc and Asmir Begovic battle it out for the number one shirt for the immediate, short and possibly medium term, the longer term battle is also hotting up between a whole host of youngsters who have been impressing behind the scenes at Dean Court.

The most obvious of that list is England youngster Aaron Ramsdale.

England goalkeeper joins Cherries

Signed from Sheffield United two years ago, Ramsdale has now represented England at Under 18’s, 19’s 20’s and 21’s level, winning the 2017 UEFA Under 19’s European Championship.

The now 20-year-old has obtained football league experience via loan moves with Chesterfield and AFC Wimbledon.

Another shot-stopper of a similar age impressing at international level is Mark Travers, who has represented Republic of Ireland at under 18’s and under 19’s and has gained loan experience with former AFC Bournemouth midfielder Mark Molesley’s Weymouth.

AFC Bournemouth have now added 17-year-old Rafal Danielsson in to the mix, signing on loan from Icelandic side Fram Reykjavik.

A short statement on afcb.co.uk stated that Danielsson “has signed until the end of the season, with the club being given an option to purchase the ‘keeper following the expiry of the loan.”

Seem to have quite a few young goalkeepers now. We still have Jordan Holmes at the club although according to wiki he is on loan at st Mirren. – Join the conversation, click here.
