In a match that was so close to being a fine away win, Bournemouth left Glanford park with a 2-2 draw that sees the Cherries sitting 3 points above the drop zone.

Scunthorpe took the lead within the first 15 minutes, Peter Beagrie tucking the ball away from the penalty spot after Eddie Howe brought down Stephen Torpey.

However it was the Cherries who went into half time the happier, James Hayter heading them level from a Stephen Purches free-kick 10 minutes before the break.

But the goal of the game was to come when James O’Connor picked up the ball 25 yards from goal after a neat chest-down by Hayter to sweetly strike the attempt into the top corner of the net and put the Cherries 2-1 up.

Scunthorpe came back though to share the points, Richard Hinds turning with 8 minutes left on the clock to tuck the ball into the corner and send the visitors home with a point.
