AFC Bournemouth chairman Eddie Mitchell has revealed plans to redesign the proposed new south stand at Dean Court.
In May, AFC Bournemouth opened their doors to local residents and Cherries supporters over a two day period to display proposals for a new South Stand and 36 bedroom hotel.
Over 200 people attended the public exhibition, hosted by planning consultants Tanner & Tilley.
The Cherries previous plans included a 3,400 seated stand alongside a hotel and spa complex, but Mitchell has now decided to submit plans for a smaller development, which includes a 2,500 seats and 10 sponsors` boxes.
Mitchell intends to begin development if the Cherries can secure promotion to the Championship come the end of the current 2012/13 season.
Mitchell told the Daily Echo…
“We are revising our plans and are going to phase it. If we get to where we want to at the end of the season, we want to get the stand up. If we get promotion, we would like to build it in the close season.
“We are redesigning it on a smaller scale, without the hotel, but with the prospect of building that later. If we were to reach the Championship, it would be no good saying we could have filled a fourth stand if we had one.
“You can`t just build things all of a sudden like you used to be able to. You have got to jump through so many hoops and that is what I am trying to do.”
