AFC Bournemouth development squad coach Stephen Purches believes his side have a lot to improve upon despite the comprehensive victory over Bashley.

The Cherries advanced to the quarter-finals of the Hampshire Senior Cup with a 4-0 win over the Wessex League Premier Division side.

Two goals a piece from Keelan O`Connell and Mikael Ndjoli in front of 292 spectators at Bashley Road were enough to earn the development squad the victory.

Purches told the Daily Echo

“We attacked the game well in terms of our attitude and our fitness was good as well.

“It was just little bits of attention to detail in and around the final third and our decision making wasn`t as good as it could have been.

“But that is why you play these games and, hopefully, next time you play them, you learn there are certain passes that need to be made rather than maybe trying something that isn`t quite on.

“The decision making overall wasn`t where I had wanted it to be but, as a performance and getting through to the next round, it was professional.”
