Former Liverpool, Chelsea and current Fenerbahce midfielder Raul Meireles is reportedly set to hold talks over a potential move to AFC Bournemouth.

The 33 year old central midfielder has played 73 times for Portugal and has a long list of honours due to his time in Portugal with Porto and playing for both Chelsea and Fenerbahce.

He has won the Portuguese league 4 times, the Turkish league once, has won the FA Cup and the UEFA Champions League.

He is currently a free agent after leaving Fenerbahce as he was unable to agree a contract extension.

Reports in Turkey via Haber7 and Objektif Bakis have linked him with potential moves to either AFC Bournemouth or Aston Villa over the past month, according to hitc.com, with suggestions that he would prefer ‘the prospect of Premier League football at Dean Court, after Aston Villa`s relegation to the Championship – and that the midfielder has rejected offers from his Portuguese homeland to make the move.’
