AFC Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe has his eyes focused on one particular player after taking a closer to look to watch him in person.

At just 19-years-old, he is already an international with England Under 21’s and is currently enjoying a fruitful loan spell with Championship outfit Preston North End.

According to reports in tabloid newspaper The Sun, the focus of Howe’s attention is on Lukas Nmecha.

Born in Hamburg, Germany he moved to England with his family as a child and has been part of the youth set-up at Manchester City since before the age of 10.

He has represented England at Under 16, 17, 18 and 19 level before making the step up to the Under-21’s for this summers Toulon Tournament, playing alongside AFC Bournemouth midfielder Lewis Cook and goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale.

During his loan spell with Preston North End this season he has already made 14 appearances.

The report goes on to add…

“He (Nmecha) has emerged as a potential target for Howe, with the 19-year-old seen as the type of player who would thrive in his system.

Two strikers left last summer. Defoe won’t be here much longer – I’d have thought – leaves us a bit light. We need a better pair of second choice strikers. – Join the conversation, click here.
