Prior to the announcement that Artur Boruc would be remaining with AFC Bournemouth for another twelve months, The Sun newspaper was linking the Cherries with a summer move for a new goalkeeper.

Considering Boruc is 38 years old and the rumoured target is just 20, it doesn’t have to be assumed that Boruc’s new deal would end AFC Bournemouth’s interest in the Dutch Under 20’s international if indeed the reported interest is accurate.

The target is said to be Rody de Boer who currently plays for second-tier Eredivisie club SC Telstar.

He has reported interest from Watford and Aston Villa, however according to this article AFC Bournemouth “officials have contacted their opposite numbers at Ijmuiden-based Telstar about signing De Boer.”

The report added…

“(SC Telstar) will reluctantly cash in on their prize asset with his contract expiring next year.”

If Boruc, Federici and Allsop were all off it would make sense. Him and Ramsdale battling it out to be number two could be interesting. – Join the conversation, click here.
