Cherries Find Gas Leak

A Jo Kuffour goal was enough to see the Cherries through to the next stage of the Football League Trophy, with a 1-0 over Bristol Rovers.

Kevin Bond’s boys kept the momentum going after the weekends victory against Crewe with another away win.

Bristol Rovers tried hard, but despite their efforts did not quite have the enough to get the equaliser, after Kuffour gave Bournemouth the lead and ultimately the game.

Jo Kuffour’s goal came early in the second half, taking his chance really well, he drilled it right-footed to the bottom-left of goal from about 20 yards out.
The Gas keeper had no choice but to accept that Kuffour’s strike was always going to get the better of him.

Bournemouth did everything they could to give the Pirates a chance in the dying minutes, going as far as bringing on 43 year old coach Rob Newman (he was actually quite good!) and asking the referee to add FIVE minutes of added time (where did he get that from!?!).

The Cherries now are in the hat for the area quarter finals and just three games from Wembley.
