The impressive looking West Brom bossed possession, but the Cherries did well to contain them for large periods.
Combined with a bit of good fortune and an alert Neil Moss, AFC Bournemouth managed to to end the first half only 1-0 down.

The games single goal came from the impressive Craig Beattie midway through first half.
Beattie received the ball on the edge of the Bournemouth penalty area, glanced up, and then lobbed the usually reliable Moss, who perhaps was in two minds whether to come for the ball or peddle back.

Second half was much of the same with The Baggies having the lions share of possession.
Eventually the action picked up when the Cherries began to rally in desperate search of an equaliser in the last 10 minutes of play.

Three excellent opportunities presented themselves, mainly due to the brilliance of Darren Anderton, but alas nothing to celebrate.
Moss saved the Cherries blushes late-on with an unorthodox punch of the ball from a stinging shot by West Brom captain Greening.

A 1-0 loss, but plenty of positives to take into the next game.
