Cherries Draw Southampton Away

Eddie Howe’s Cherries face a trip to St Mary’s Stadium in the first round of the Carling Cup – having drawn our neigbours in a mouth-watering tie.

The match will be the first real test of Howe’s rejuvinated team, Southampton are widely expected to be challenging for automatic promotion come the end of this campaign. The match could set the bar for what we could expect to achieve this season.

The tie will be played week commencing 9th August.
