AFC Bournemouth Chairman Eddie Mitchell has told the Dorchester fans that he is till committed to the Blue Square South Side.

Mitchell last week stood down from his role as Chairman of Dorchester Town and passed on his majority shareholding in the club to his two sons.

This was completed to avoid any possible conflict of interest in regards to the Football Association and Mitchell’s direct involvement in two clubs.

Mitchell has since become a 50% shareholder in AFC Bournemouth according to the Dorset Echo and has been officially announced as the new Chairman of AFC Bournemouth.

But less than 12 hours after the announcement, Eddie Mitchell has stated his commitment to Dorchester, a move which is likely to confuse Cherries fans.

Mitchell told the Dorset Echo…

“I`m still committed (to Dorchester) and I`ve got every intention of remaining committed. I`ll still be coming to watch all the games as well as there`s no one else I`d rather be watching.”

In regards to his involvement with AFC Bournemouth he added…

“I`ve got my own ideas and I`m not one for being a passenger, I like to be in control of my own destiny so to speak. I`m pleased it`s finally gone through.”
