Ahead of AFC Bournemouth’s trip to Leicester for Saturday’s Championship clash, AFCB Vital spoke to Simon Poole from Vital Leicester to give us a little preview of what to expect.
Any tips on getting to and from the ground?
There are a number of makeshift car parks near the ground which are usually available for a small fee (£5 usually).
The train station is probably about a twenty minute walk from the stadium – bus station probably out of walking distance.
Supporters coaches are usually the best way!
Where are the best places for a pre-match drink for away supporters?
The Dry Dock is good fun. Good prices and a fair selection – you can get a bite to eat, too. It’s about a fifteen minute walk from the stadium.
This will be the first trip to your new ground for Cherries fans, what’s your ground like for away supporters?
The away section is located next to the most vocal section of our home fans, so the atmosphere would be quite good. You’ll be in a corner of the ground but there isn’t a bad seat in the house.
Who is your player to watch?
Jamie Vardy has caused teams problems at the back, although David Nugent is our top goal scorer so far this season. We seem to be winning a lot of penalties this year so watch out for that!
Do you have any injury concerns ahead of the game?
Ritchie De Laet (right full-back) missed the last game and reports suggest he could be out for another six weeks after undergoing surgery on his tibia. He’ll be missed, as he has been a real attacking threat from defence.
What are your predictions for this game and the season?
I flagged this game up as a key fixture before the season started, and I stand by it – I think Bournemouth are a good team with a good manager who are used to winning after a successful League One campaign. That being said, Leicester are quite solid at home so I’ll have to say 2-1 to the Foxes. Sorry! Best of luck for the rest of the season though.
