Celtic see transfer bid rebuffed

AFC Bournemouth have rejected a transfer offer from Celtic for striker Lys Mousset, that is according to the Daily Mail newspaper.
Last month the Scottish giants were reported to be considering a bid, but due to their financial restrictions, they were considering a cash plus player offer.
Mousset made the move to the south coast in June 2016 for a reported fee of £5.5 million.
He has gone on to make 71 appearances for the Cherries, but that only includes 8 Premier League starts, he’s also only netted 5 times, 3 in the league.
AFC Bournemouth could be willing to listen to offers with Lys Mousset’s contract set to expire in 12 months time, but it would appear the offer made was not enough for the Cherries.
The previous report suggested that the Cherries were looking for a fee of around £10million and the latest reports suggest that stance has not changed.

Bournemouth’s Lys Mousset is the top target to strengthen the striker area. With the English Premier League side rejecting attempts to offer the likes of Olivier Ntcham as makeweights in a deal, however, Celtic will have to shatter their £9m transfer record with a straight cash transaction to fight off rival interest from Ligue 1 in France.
But who is Olivier Ntcham and why would Celtic have though AFC Bournemouth could have wanted him?
Ntcham is a 23-year-old midfielder who has played for France right through from Under 16’s to Under 21’s, he cost Celtic £4.5million in 2017 from Manchester City.
He has made 77 appearances for Celtic in that time scoring 14 times.
Last season his performances dropped below his previous standard and he has also struggled with injury. Despite this Portuguese side Porto and French club Marseille, have both reportedly been interested.
But Eddie Howe is not, he would much rather have the cash it seems.

I don’t see anything in Solanke (yet) that is better than what Mousset brings. In fact, I’d probably put Lys before Solanke on his strength on the ball… Offer Lys a 2-year extension so he can go on loan for 1 year and still have 2 years left on his contract if we decide to move him on next summer…
