Scottish giants Celtic are pondering breaking their transfer record in an attempt to lure AFC Bournemouth striker Lys Mousset from the English Premier League to the Scottish Premiership.

Celtic paid a club record £9million for Odsonne Edouard from PSG after he had previously enjoyed a spell on loan with Celtic.

But now Celtic are considering a move that would potentially be worth £10+million for AFC Bournemouth’s 23-year-old striker Lys Mousset.

The Daily Mail have suggested that the deal could be made up of cash and players offer, however former AFC Bournemouth transfer target Kieran Tierney would not be included in the deal.

Cherries set to equal record transfer fee?

The report stated…

Bournemouth have a long-standing interest in Parkhead full-back Kieran Tierney. Facing a double hernia operation this summer, however, it’s understood the Scotland international is not one of the players the Scottish champions are prepared to sacrifice to get Mousset.

AFC Bournemouth could well be willing to listen to offers for Lys Mousset this summer.

AFC Bournemouth completed the signing of then 20-year-old Lys Mousset from French club Le Havre in June 2016 for a reported fee of £5.5 million.

He has gone on to make 71 appearances for the Cherries, but that only includes 8 Premier League starts, he’s also only netted 5 times, 3 in the league.

Mousset’s contract at Dean Court reportedly expires in 12 months time.

Your say….

A loan to Celtic would make sense – Except for the fact, Lys’ contract runs until next summer.
So we either need to sell or renew now. Would a renewal and instant loan out be realistic? – Join the conversation, click here.
