Portsmouth goalkeeper Asmir Begovic has left Dean Court and returned to Fratton Park.

The Canadian Under 20’s goalkeeper has recently lost his place in the Cherries side to Neil Moss, after manager Kevin Bond finally saw sense over what was probably the most pointless loan signing in Bournemouth history.

For whatever reason Bond opted to bring Begovic to Dean Court on loan, which financially didn’t make any sense as it meant that we started the season with three goalkeepers and three strikers on the books.

But once the performances came it didn’t make any sense on the pitch either.

For all his undoubted potential, the fact that at this moment in time he lacks confidence, judgement, kicking and the ability to command his box, the Cherries supporters got increasingly frustrated with Begovic’s inclusion in the side.

Eventually costly mistakes against Swindon and Carlisle brought a premature end to his spell at Bournemouth as the Cherries fell to the bottom of the table.
