After our visit to Stamford Bridge in the League Cup to play Chelsea, which we lost out to a late winning goal in the last minute, after shortly before equalising to make it 1-1. Chelsea now play Arsenal in the semi-final. It`s now back to the Premier League and our second trip this month up to Manchester, this time to play the runaway leaders Manchester City. City also had a League Cup game on Tuesday and beat Leicester, they now play Bristol City in the semi-final. Manchester City who are top with 52 points, 11 points clear of fellow Manchester club, United. The Cherries are in 16th place on 16 points, one point above a relegation spot.

There were some controversial decisions by referee Mike Dean in the previous game at Dean Court. It looked like Lys Mousset had won a ball fairly but Dean gave a free-kick to City, this led to them getting the winning goal. Raheem Sterling in his celebrations was then shown a second yellow card and sent off. The game was also the start of what has now turned out to be a 16 game winning run for Manchester City. The odds are very much against us stopping this winning run, but this is football and we know how unpredictable this game can be.
In their first two games of the season, City beat Brighton away and then drew at home at the Etihad Stadium with Everton, the only game so far they have dropped points. They have also dealt out a number of thrashings. In September at home they beat Liverpool 5-0. This was followed with a 0-6 victory away at Watford. They then beat Crystal Palace 5-0 at the Etihad Stadium. Their first game at home in October they recorded their highest win of the season so far, with a 7-2 drubbing of Stoke City. We then fast forward to December and two more, 0-4 away at Swansea and a 4-1 win at home against Spurs which was their recent league game. Their record to date at home Played 9, Won 8, Drawn 1. Away Played 9, Won 9.

Manchester City have got some very good individual world class players in their side, but they have also knitted into a very good team and are playing some excellent and entertaining football. This season so far in the Premier League they have three players on 8 assists, Kevin De Bruyne, David Silva and Leroy Sane. Highest scorers are Raheem Sterling with 11 goals, Sergio Aguero on 10, Gabriel Jesus with 8, Kevin De Bruyne 6 and Leroy Sane also on 6.

Manchester City Team News:

Vincent Kompany has been out with a muscle injury, John Stones with a hamstring and is likely to be missing. David Silva has missed their last two games for personal reasons, not known yet if he will be available for Saturday.

Player to watch: Raheem Sterling

There are a number that spring to mind, David Silva, Kevin De Bruyne, Sergio Aguero, Leroy Sane and for this time of year Gabriel Jesus. Would normally pick between David Silva and Kevin De Bruyne who have been in superb form, but on past history, will go for a player who has always seemed to give us problems, Raheem Sterling their leading scorer who has netted 11 goals with 3 assists this season so far in the Premier League.

AFC Bournemouth Team News:

Jermain Defoe was injured against Chelsea and it has been reported he could have damage to his ankle ligaments. Harry Arter also picked up a calf injury. We already had Charlie Daniels and Josh King missing through injury, also Benik Afobe is now amongst those carrying an injury. With such a short time until our next game just hope one or two of those will be back.

Player to watch: Callum Wilson

This is difficult with a number of injuries and not knowing who is available. So will go for either Josh King or Callum Wilson hoping they can find their old scoring form and nick a goal or two in this tough game against a side who at home in 9 games have scored 32 and only conceded 7.
