Not A ‘Happy Hunting Ground’ For AFCB
After our exit. from the League Cup, the Cherries next game is also away, and this time up in the North West at Goodison Park the home of Everton on Saturday at 3 pm. This will be the second away game in the Premier League for AFCB and the third league match overall. Goodison Park hasn’t been a happy hunting ground for our club since we have been in the Premier League, losing on our last two visits and in the seven games our club have lost six of them. The only win there was the last game of the 2019-20 season when we were relegated, it ended 0-3.
Everton v AFC Bournemouth
Everton Win
Draw
AFCB Win
This will be the start of the third season since Sean Dyche joined Everton. His side have had a poor start to their new season in the Premier League, losing at home to Brighton 0-3 and away against Spurs 4-0. This is a similar start to last season where they lost the first three games without scoring, both home games ended 0-1 and away 4-0.
Everton will be hoping that their fortunes change and their side finish this season still in the Premier League. On the 18th May 2025, they play their last home game against Southampton at Goodison Park, which has been their home since 1892. At the start of the 2025-26 season, they will move into their new Bramley-Moore Dock waterfront stadium by the side of the river Mersey, which will have seating for around 52,888 fans.
The last time AFCB visited Goodison Park to play Everton was in October last year. Everton opened the scoring as early as the 8th minute through James Garner. They added a second in the 37th minute with a shot from Jack Harrison. Abdoulaye Doucore fired home the third in the 60th minute and the game finally finished 3-0.
In all our league visits to Everton, AFCB have W 1, D 0, L 6.
In all competitions, AFCB have W 7, D 2, L 10.
Everton Team News
Youssef Chermiti, Jarred Branthwaite, Nathan Patterson have all been out with injuries.
Everton Player To Watch
Their fans were impressed with their new £15 million signing from Marseille, Iliman Ndiaye, who played for Sheffield United before that. Otherwise Dwight McNeil, was top with 6 assists last season.
AFCB Team News
No news on any new injuries and as yet no new signings announced, although the Kepa deal was reported as being close yesterday and the latest news it’s a done deal.
AFCB Player To Watch
Evanilson came close to scoring at Dean Court and against Everton he will be up against a defence that conceded seven goals in two league games. Hope we see him score his first Cherries goal.
The Referee
Stuart Attwell is the referee for this game. He sent off Milos Kerkez in the 79th minute of our away game against Wolves for a sliding tackle on Matt Docherty which was considered dangerous. Andoni Iraola wasn’t happy about the red card and the club appealed, but the decision stood. Antoine Semenyo’s first-half goal was enough to win the game with 10 men.

It’s been a while since we won a game so it’s perhaps time we stop wasting all these chances we create in abundance. I predict a strong response from the team after all the ref/VAR drama – 3-0 to us, expecting nothing less. – To join the conversation, click here.
