The Cherries fans hoping for our team to get back on track after two previous league defeats against Derby County (A) and Luton Town (H), were again disappointed. What we saw was a lacklustre first-half performance against a well-drilled and ‘up for it’ Reading side who fought for every ball. This resulted in our side going in at half-time 3-0 down and no chance of a second-half recovery that we saw at Dean Court earlier in the season. It was a slightly better second-half performance which saw a welcome return for Junior Stanislas who came on as a second-half substitute and scored our goal to make the final score 3-1 and our third defeat on the trot this season in the Championship.

The Cherries now move on to a home game on Tuesday night at Dean Court where the visitors are Sheffield Wednesday who inflicted our first league defeat of the season at their ground. Since AFCB played at Hillsborough Stadium back in November, they have sacked two managers. Garry Monk who was the manager when we lost there and our old player and manager Tony Pullis in what must be his shortest time in charge as a manager after 10 games. The present person at the helm is Neil Thompson as caretaker manager until they make another permanent appointment.

Since we last played the Owls, in their away games they have drawn 1-1 with both Swansea City and Blackburn Rovers. Lost against Preston NE 1-0, Norwich City 2-1, against Huddersfield Town, Nottingham Forest and their last away game Coventry City all finished 2-0. At home, they have W 4, D 3, L 1. In their latest game at home, they beat Preston 1-0.

We last played them at Dean Court in the 2014-15 season in the Championship, the game ended in a 2-2 draw. Our goals were from Yann Kermorgant and Matt Ritchie. Their equalising goal came in the fifth minute of injury time from the penalty spot.

In our home league games against the Owls, AFCB have W 2, D 3, L 1.
All competitions, W 7, D 7, L 6.
