AFC Bournemouth goalkeeper Lee Camp refused to blame the late controversial goal for the Cherries defeat to Leicester City.
The Cherries conceded in the last eight minutes of the game to a Kevin Phillips header. As Elliott Ward slid in to clear the ball off the line, referee Darren Drysdale and his linesman awarded the goal.
As the AFC Bournemouth squad appealed to the officials the Leicester side celebrated the winning goal. A result which gave Leicester their ninth consecutive league victory and a ten point lead at the top of the Championship table.
Camp told afcb.co.uk…
“It was a brave decision by the linesman, I wasn`t convinced the ball was over the line.
“Having looked back at the video it`s unclear to me to see through the post and Elliott (Ward) sliding in.
“He must have been sure and Kevin Phillips seemed to think it was in.
“I think some of the ball was over the line but my first reaction was that Elliott got there and was able to clear it.
“But we can make excuses – he has a free header at the back post from a nothing cross really which is disappointing from our point of view.”
