The Daily Telegraph today covered the build-up to tonight’s game with AFCB, by giving the story of how Barrow’s preparations have been affected by their new management regime and part-time status.

Some interesting points that come out of the article are:

‘…when the tie is contested tonight at Dean Court, Barrow will have not one new manager, but three’

The Barrow secretary’s official response to the dismissal of former manager Phil Wilson was as follows:

‘It was because of adverse results in the league which has left us third from bottom that lead to Wilson’s going. The Cup results had only given him a stay of execution’

The Barrow boys have enjoyed a full and abnormal preparation to the game:

…forced to take time off work yesterday to travel to the south coast, where they enjoyed the benefit of an overnight stay before training, professional style, this morning as guests of Eastleigh FC

The club coach left yesterday with 9 directors, many club officals, and only 2 players – Joseph Walker and substitute goalkeeper, Colin Andrew. the others had to be picked up along the M6.

They expect to return home at 5am, if the game is finished in 90 minutes – a long way if you’ve lost!
