AFC Bournemouth left back Brad Smith was pleased to make his Premier League debut for the Cherries against Arsenal.

Brad Smith joined the Cherries as a 22 year old Australian international, who can play both at left back and on the wing from Liverpool.

AFC Bournemouth agreed an undisclosed fee, reportedly for around £3million.

But with the exception of two EFL Cup appearances against Morecambe and Preston North End, Smith had not been able to break his way in to contention for a Premier League appearance.

With Charlie Daniels injured however, Smith was given his chance at left back.

Brad Smith told the Daily Echo

‘…It was a good decision to make the move (from Liverpool). Now I`m just working hard and trying to get as much game time as possible.

“It is different here but Bournemouth`s a great club – and I think they can grow into a very big club.

“We just have to stay in the Premier League and keep doing well. The club`s growing enormously and we`re performing strongly…’

“…I`m happy to make my debut but I couldn`t really show what I`d usually like to, because we had to defend a lot, I got forward a little bit but not as much as I want to. I like to get forward, put a lot of miles on the clock, get up and down and help the team as much as possible.”

Your Say…

Eddie Howe has a decision to make for Liverpool now… If Daniels is fit for that game I think he’s a no brainer as I wasn’t really that impressed by B. Smith, and I think A. Smith needs to be moved back to Right Back ASAP…

The central pairing now has 3 possibles going for the 2 spots a… Ake has grown with every minute and was tremendous, for the most, … So who do you drop…? For me, I’d be tempted to put Franno back in there alongside Ake, and give Cook a rest…
