AFC Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe is well known for often getting his transfer business done early.

Numerous signings have previously been wrapped up in plenty of time for players to integrate into the squad ahead of pre-season training camps and international tours.

The summer 2019 transfer window opened earlier this week and reports are now suggesting that AFC Bournemouth could be set to complete a deal for Bristol City defender Lloyd Kelly.

Kelly is a 20-year-old left-back, who is also capable of filling in at centre back.

Sky Sports have reported that the fee agreed with the Championship club is £13million.

AFC Bournemouth will be hoping to conclude the deal quickly as interest in Kelly has been high, with the Bristol Post previously reporting that Liverpool, Arsenal and Southampton had previously been linked to the England Under 21’s international.

Kelly has earned 9 caps for England Under 20’s and 3 appearances for the Under 21’s.

Kelly made 34 appearances for Bristol City during the 2018/19 season.

Honestly I’d never heard of him but apparently, he’s a 6 foot 3 Centre Back who can also play Left Back. Seems he is good on the ball and quick – which is definitely something we lack at the back. He’s also an England Under 21 international

It doesn’t bode well for Jack Simpson or Tyrone Mings’ future and I wonder if this means we might play a back 3 more regularly next season. – Join the conversation, click here.
