AFC Bournemouth currently occupies fifth spot in the Premier League table, the richest and arguably best league in the world.

After five games of the 2018/19 campaign, the Cherries sit above Tottenham Hotspur, Arsenal and Manchester United, with ten points.

Just 12 months ago, AFC Bournemouth started the campaign with four consecutive defeats and had only just got their first points on the board thanks to a late Jermain Defoe goal against Brighton & Hove Albion.

Now the Cherries can boast one of the better home records in the top flight of English football, having lost just twice in 13 Premier League games at Dean Court, spanning across the tail end of last season and into the start of this season.

Speaking to the Daily Echo before the 4-2 victory over Leicester City, AFC Bournemouth goalkeeper Asmir Begovic said that he believes the entire team are improving, whilst summer signings David Brooks, Jefferson Lerma and Diego Rico have added further quality…

“Overall, as a team, we are growing and maturing. It is a positive start.

“It is the best start we have had since we have been in the Premier League so, for us, that is a positive…”

“The team is great and we have really good strength in depth. We had some really good additions over the summer and I think we are improving as individuals.”

Thought he was excellent today. Made an important double save at 1-0. Took any number of crosses at important times in the game. An unsung hero so far this season. Impressed at West Ham and Chelsea as well. – Join the conversation, click here.
