Bond: Wrong Attitude

AFC Bournemouth manager Kevin Bond has spoken of his disappointment in some members of the Cherries squad.

Bournemouth faced Southampton in a behind closed doors friendly yesterday, giving a chance to a handful of players on the fringes of the first team.

But just like the recent reserves game, they failed to impress the Dean Court coaching staff.

The only person singled out for praise was former Bournemouth captain Neil Young.

The players listed by the Daily Echo as playing were Neil Young, Brett Pitman, Sam Vokes, Danny Hollands, Shaun Cooper and Marvin Bartley.

Bond told the Daily Echo

‘…I would have liked to have seen more of them. They’re not in the first team as we speak and they have to push hard and you want them to catch the eye.

‘That’s what I’m looking for even in terms of their level of being highly committed.

‘It’s an important game for them and they needed to show the right kind of attitude. In these games some do and some don’t.’
