AFC Bournemouth manager Kevin Bond is on a run of 5 successive league defeats. If he goes on to lose against Bradford City and then Nottingham Forest he will have earned the same 007 tag as name sake James.

In the league, his record currently looks like this…

0 Wins, 0 Draws, 5 Defeats

When Bond took over he said that the squad he inherited wasn’t what he would like and has since gone on to bring in 3 players on loan (Franck Songo’o, Jack Cork and Ryan Bertrand).

In an interview with Meridian Soccer Night last week, Bond told the TV camera’s that the side were already on a poor run of form when he arrived.

Not strictly true Mr Bond, Sean O’Driscoll was on a run of 3 home wins in a row.

O’Driscoll’s record was…

3 Wins, 2 Draws, 2 Defeats, scoring 1.57 points per game, leaving us 8th in the table.

When O’Driscoll left, the Cherries were taken over my the caretaker team of Joe Roach and Stuart Murdoch.

Their record was…

0 Wins, 5 Draws, 1 Defeat, scoring 0.83 points per game, leaving us 14th in the table.

Since the Cherries were taken over by Bond the Cherries have slipped to 22nd, just 1 point from rock bottom of League One.

Speaking to the Daily Echo Bond was asked about the recent run of form and he said…

‘It concerns me greatly but we know where our problems lie.’

‘…We haven’t been creating enough chances and have had too many defensive lapses. These are the things that are hurting us at this moment in time.’

‘…It would be a lot worse if we were getting beaten and were the poorest of the two teams on the day. But it’s very heartening because that hasn’t been the case. From that point of view, I don’t think we’re a million miles away from getting back on track.

‘We know we need to turn decent performances into performances that produce points and results.’
