AFC Bournemouth goalkeeper Asmir Begovic believes the upcoming month could be season-defining for the Cherries Premier League campaign.

AFC Bournemouth had lost seven of their opening ten games of the season prior to a trip to newly promoted Newcastle United last weekend.

The Cherries sat just one place above the bottom placed club in the division, but a dramatic 92nd minute winner saw AFC Bournemouth climb up the table and out of the bottom three.

This weekend is an international break, but the Premier League actions returns to Dean Court on the 18th November with another promoted side in Huddersfield United who are 10th.

From there it’s Swansea City (19th), Burnley (7th), Southampton (13th) and Crystal Palace (20th).

If AFC Bournemouth could enjoy a good run of form then it could go along way to defining the Cherries 2017/18 season.

Begovic told the Daily Echo

‘…We are 11 games in and the period after this international break is going to be huge.

“There are lots of games and lots of points to play for. If we can get on a positive run then why can`t we at least match last season`s (points) total?”

“These sort of months and times of the year are season-defining…

“…We will use the international break to work hard, to get ready for Huddersfield and will do our best to pick up maximum points,”

7th Position

Before the season began, I think most people predicted the standard top 6, with Everton a popular choice as 7th.

Looking unlikely now, and at the moment it’s Burnley sitting pretty, although that’s unlikely to last, especially if Dyche goes.

So who’s going to take that coveted 7th spot ? Of all the likely mid-table teams (Saints, WBA, WHU, etc) I can’t see an obvious contender.

If we get our act together in November, as I expect, then why not us?
