The Cherries failed to get going against Crewe Alexandra.

Crewe had the lead at the half way stage after a Luke Varney left footed volley found the back of the net from within 10 minutes of the kick off.

Cherries made an attacking change after 15 minutes of the second half, removing the physical presence that of Steve Fletcher for the pace of Brett Pitman, seemingly to stretch the opposition defence.

Pitman was on the pitch for mere 2 minutes before Crewe doubled their advantage through a Nicky Maynard right footed strike.

Kevin Bond went back to the drawing board and made another change, bringing on Danny Hollands at the expense of the Southend loan signing Lawson, but it did little to improve the Cherries chances and the game ended 2-0.

Bournemouth have now dropped back into the bottom four and face a difficult test against Huddersfield next Saturday who will be looking to build on their win today against Cheltenham.
Fans Reaction

Welcome to Division 2 football. NOTHING in the clubs performance on the field and in the boardroom lead me to any other conclusion! No matter what one feels emotionally ,the AFCB current set up is a circus! One feels that unless Bond brings in an influx of players in a very short time and the club can locate some continuity and confidence on the park, we are not far away from lower division football again! Since the Jaffer -Bond compelation was commenced its been all down hill…….now we are sliding down a slippery slope to oblivion. Basically if we don’t get some results away and home in the next few weeks we are …TOAST! Another fine mess you got us into ! TommyGodwin
