AFC Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe is reportedly being lined up to replace Arsene Wenger at Arsenal.

66 year old Arsene Wenger is entering the final 12 months of his contract at Arsenal.

He initially joined Arsenal in 1996 and has gone on to 3 Premier League titles and 6 FA Cups.

However, Arsenal have not won the Premier League for 12 seasons and it looks likely that Wenger will leave at the end of his contract.

Ahead of the sides first ever meeting in the league last December, Howe paid tribute to Wenger and Arsenal, telling the Daily Echo

‘…I have the utmost respect for the manager who has done an unbelievable job over a long period of time.

“I have always enjoyed watching them play because there are always things you can take from them. Under Arsene Wenger, Arsenal have definitely had a bearing on my management career…”

‘…I have always admired their philosophy and how they play the game. I also admire them as a club because I think they are very well run and stable.

“There is a lot to admire about Arsenal…’

The Daily Star have now reported that the feeling towards Howe is mutual and he could be set to be a target to replace Wenger.

The newspaper stated…

‘Arsenal have earmarked Eddie Howe as a potential successor to Arsene Wenger.

The report added…

‘Howe`s attractive brand of football and adventurous approach is being seen as a perfect fit in the corridors of power at the Emirates Stadium, with Wenger also a fan of his.
