Tony Pulis – a familiar face to Cherries fans – brings his team West Bromwich Albion to Dean Court for the second time in the Premier League. Pulis signed a two-and-a-half-year contract in January 2015. Recently there has been speculation about his future, but it seem he will be staying at WBA.
One of WBA deadline day transfer signings was also a club record paid to Spurs for the Belgium attacking midfield player Nacer Chabli for a reported figure of £13 million pounds. Another late signing was for the ex Reading Welsh striker Hal Robson-Kanu who was a free agent and had a good Euro tournament playing for the Welsh team. They also signed Allan Nyom a full-back from Watford for an undisclosed fee, Matt Phillips a midfield player from QPR for a reported fee of £5.5 million and brought in on loan Brendan Galloway a defender from Everton.
WBA have had a better start this season than AFCB, having picked up four points so far, their only win was on the first day of the season where they were away to our last opponents Crystal Palace and went one better than the Cherries coming away with all three points in the bag. WBA`s other two games were at home where they lost to Everton and in their last game drew with Middlesbrough.
AFCB have so far picked up the solitary point at Palace, previous away game they were beaten at West Ham, on both occasions they were late goals conceded by the Cherries. AFCB`s opening game at home against Manchester United ended in defeat.
The game against Albion on Saturday will be another tough game against Tony Pulis`s team. Last season the game at Dean Court ended in a draw, in the away game, AFCB came away with all three points. In that game, WBA had two players sent off, McClean and Rondon.
AFC Bournemouth Team News:
After being out all last season and some of this season so far, there is better news on Tyrone Mings, he played in the friendly against AC Milan and is now getting nearer to making a return to the Cherries squad. Our new signing on a season long loan from Arsenal is England International player Jack Wilshere, he also played in the AC Milan game. With other players coming back from International duty, Eddie Howe will have a strong squad to pick from including some fringe players who had good games against AC Milan.
Player to watch: Jack Wilshere
Hopefully we will see Jack Wilshere in his first Premier League start in a Cherries shirt to see if he can revitalise our midfield with his experience, in his attacking role he could be just what our strikers need as well with that telling pass to split a defence and our strikers to capitalise on.
West Brom Team News:
Jonathan Leko went off injured in WBA`s last game at home against Middlesbrough. Chris Brunt has returned to training and hopes to be back next month, he has been out since February with a anterior knee ligament injury. It has been rumoured that the head of youth is taking up a post at the Manchester United academy, Steve Hopcroft is responsible for bringing through a string of young players, amongst them Saido Berahino and teenager Jonathan Leko.
Player to watch: Nacer Chadli
Will be interesting to see what difference WBA record signing Nacer Chadli makes to their midfield on Saturday. So two attacking midfielders one from each side to keep an eye on and see who comes out on top.
