AFC Bournemouth’s Chelsea utility loanee Nathan Ake believes that it should no longer be a surprise when the Cherries perform well against the so-called big clubs.
Last season AFC Bournemouth’s biggest results of the campaign came away from home at Stamford Bridge, beating the current Premier League champions Chelsea 1-0.
That result was quickly followed by beating Manchester United at Dean Court.
This season, AFC Bournemouth have beaten Everton, drawn with Tottenham, were unluckily beaten away at Arsenal and defeated Liverpool.
Ake told the Daily Echo…
‘…With this group of lads we have got a lot of quality and maybe it isn`t a surprise any more that we play well against the big teams.
“We played well against Tottenham. Against Arsenal we played well but it was just the finishing. We are growing as a team and have a lot of quality.
“We just want to achieve more and more and we did that against Liverpool…’
When asked if scoring the stoppage time winner against Liverpool was best moment of his career to date he said…
‘…It was one of the craziest games and, with that ending, it must be, yes.”

‘Ake will be a brilliant player in a couple of years time and some game time.
His athleticism gets him out of jail from the times he is caught out positionally. With another year or two of experience, his positioning will improve.
Still think as a shield to the back 4 will eventually be his best position – Makelele like. – Join the conversation here.
