Chelsea loanee Nathan Aké is really looking forward to his time at AFC Bournemouth, especially working with Cherries manager Eddie Howe.

Aké has agreed a season long loan from Chelsea, with the Dutch Under 21’s international adding versatility to the Cherries squad.

Aké can play at centre back and left back, but personally see’s himself as a central midfielder.

Aké spent last season on loan with Watford, where he made 32 appearances, including 24 games in the Premier League and the Cherries will be hoping to benefit from that experience.

Aké told afcb.co.uk

‘…I came and spoke to Eddie here and he gave me a lot of confidence, he talked about his plans on the pitch and I think we are quite similar, we both like to work hard.

‘I felt there was a connection there and basically, I decided straight away I wanted to come here…’

‘…’I can play in different positions. I like to get on the ball defensively play hard, with tackles and things like that, I think I am a holding midfielder, when I came to Chelsea I played as a centre back but then was told I was too small. So I changed to left back and then to midfield, I`ve been going around in circles! But last year I played left back, although my preferred position is holding midfield…’

Your Say…

Very shrewd signing imho.

My one big question – what position is he going to play ?
