AFC Bournemouth record signing Nathan Ake believes the move from Chelsea back to the south coast on a permanent basis is the right move for his career.

Although the fee and length of deal is officially undisclosed, it has been previously reported that the fee being paid to the Premier League champions is in the region of £20million and Ake has signed a five year contract.

Ake officially returned to Dean Court virtually one year after he previously agreed to a loan move to the club.

That deal ended prematurely after his performances impressed Chelsea enough to recall him early.

But now he has returned as a permanent member of the AFC Bournemouth squad and speaking to the media ahead of the Cherries Spanish pre-season training camp, Ake told afcb.co.uk

‘…it`s the not biggest (football club) but straight away I felt part of something.

I think the way I was treated here before was really good, I really enjoyed it and I felt myself developing over the months I was last here.

I felt Eddie was making me a better player and I know the club, that`s what I needed at this stage of my career…

‘…Of course people will maybe look at me differently because the club have spent (record signing) money on me but regardless, I always put pressure on myself anyway. It feels the same, I put pressure on myself to play well and improve so It`s no different really.

Eddie Howe Sees Ake As A Centre-Half

So we know Ake plays on the left side, where will that leave Steve Cook back on the right?

What happens to our captain Simon Francis? Back to right back?
