AFC Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe told Sky Sports

“I think it is a point gained, with the run we have been on coming into this game, I think it is a good point. When that goes in at the end you think we might have won it, there were moments there for us.

“Our players have given everything in that match. And that is going to be what we need if we are going to stay up. Our hat is still in the ring, we are still in there and we won’t quit until the end. We are so unlucky not to come away with three points.”

— Positives —
– Like a different team to that, we’ve seen in pretty much all of the games since the restart. This is how we should have played from the first minute of the first of those games but at least it’s finally arrived
– Joshua King. Ok, he lost the ball plenty but he also created chances. If you don’t run at your man it’s going to be hard to create chances against a well-set defence and at least he’s prepared to take that on
– Seriously unlucky with the Callum Wilson goal. The correct decision under the current laws but we all know the current laws are a nonsense. They’ve also cost us repeatedly (whilst letting Burnley score a last-minute winner against us unpunished for the same offence. I digress.)
– Lloyd Kelly. Wowsers. There were a few sketchy moments but he also recovered some of them himself and you have to allow for lack of experience and time out injured. Looks a genuine find. Once again, Harry Arter what did you do to us?
– Dan Gosling. So many times maligned on here but deserves to start for the rest of the season as the player that has looked most interested since the restart and was immense in midfield this evening. Well done Dan, you will have shut a lot of people up this evening. Probably including myself if I was to dig through my post history.

— Negatives —
– Did Eddie Howe run over a clutter of 100 black cats or something? Two new injuries, two tactical substitution windows lost meaning we had to hang on to the other just in case. Plus, the Adam Smith injury looks like it might be serious. I hope he’s ok, both for his and our sakes.
– Jefferson Lerma. He wasn’t bad but somehow he doesn’t seem to have his usual bite. I wonder what’s going on? I freely admit I’m nitpicking a bit with this one
– Spurs were insipid and lacklustre in the first half and we should have been all over them pinging in shots and testing the keeper. Despite all the play for 45 minutes, Lloris only had one save to make. Still need to find that cutting edge.
– A point. It’s an improvement and it keeps us in touch but we’re getting into territory where one may not be enough. Should we have gambled and gone for the three in the last chunk of the game? I hope we don’t regret that at the end of the season.

Your say…

Kelly impressed me a lot.
Diego Rico is defensively very good and he put some dangerous balls into Spurs’ box.
Junior Stanislas has been on fire for the past 2 games . . . I hope he hasn’t burned out.
Callum having one of his better games – better ball control.
Gosling and King also good.

Lerma for me was hot and cold. Some bad touches and terrible passes, but also some great work and runs forward.
Not sure about David Brooks – he looked decent but didn’t do anything magical (he has a high standard for himself). – Join the conversation, click here.
