AFCB v Manchester United – Highlights & Reaction

|

AFC Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe told the Daily Echo

“We felt we needed that win for our own confidence and impetus into our season. It was a really key game.

“It was a really tough, hard-fought game. I was very pleased with the players because we had to be spot on in both aspects of our play…

“…In the early stages of the game I thought they started very brightly – we didn’t concede in that key stage and then grew into the game.

“We performed very well for the second half of the first half – then it was a great time to score and was a great team goal. Really pleased with it.

“The interplay around the box was much better today. Much better than the previous two games where we created chances.”

Just got back, phew and wow! Thought Manchester United looked very dangerous first 20-25 mins, spraying the ball around, Daniel James a threat, getting in behind Diego Rico a couple of times. But we hung in there and finished the second half the stronger.

Time seemed to stop when Joshua King was bringing the ball under control but what a finish, what a goal, what a crowd (thought we were excellent too!!).

Second half we looked comfortable, created plenty. Shout out to Harry Wilson who I thought had his best game for us, what an engine he has. Despite some United pressure, I didn’t really feel like they would score.

We were sat right behind Aaron Ramsdale. What a season he’s having. Immense. Defensively we look so strong now. Really really pleasing hard-fought victory.

Heard on the radio on the way home, the pundits praising Eddie Howe, in particular, the signing of Philip Billing. He and Jefferson Lerma were fantastic.

Fireworks and a glass of red to celebrate tonight. Cheers all, what a day! – Join the conversation, click here.
