AFC Bournemouth manager Jason Tindall told Sky Sports …
“There were so many ups and downs and so many mixed emotions throughout the game but I am absolutely delighted to pick up my first three points. I don’t want to be conceding three goals every week so we have to get that balance right but we certainly want to score as many goals as we can.
“That will be important if we are to achieve our goals of getting back to the Premier League. Today is a good start but we know there will be other tests to come.”

How enjoyable was that?
End to end, lots of chances and goals. Some great goals by us. No VAR. Could have gone either way. Typical championship.
No doubt, we will get fitter and better and encouragingly Jason Tindall showing flexibility in approach.
It was vital to get rid of the Premier League relegation hangover straight away.
Hopefully, the goal robots are back!

To me, we struggled with the formation. When you play at the back you need to play with wing-backs but Adam Smith rarely helped out. When they nearly scored after going to a back four he was in central midfield when Blackburn was attacking so Kelly was sold short again.
Stanislas needs to stop showboating….he’s playing like he’s better than the opposition. That might be the case but he gave it away way to many chances to pass the ball by trying to be clever.
Dominic Solanke should have looked better than he did against that defence.
Lewis Cook needs to pick his game up, really not sure whats happened to him recently.
Danjuma is going to tear this league a new one.

Centre midfield is an issue.
If someone comes in for Jefferson Lerma for what we paid, we should offload. Must be cheaper options for what he does that arenβt on Β£50k ish a week.
Lewis Cook as well. If youβre going to give the ball away, constantly, I would rather it was a Philip Billing who, if he isnβt in a passive mood, and gets stuck in, could win it back and just add more of a physical presence.
Danjuma is different class.
Not a confidence-inspiring performance from the keeper or defence…
But……it was a lot of fun!

π #AFCB boss Jason Tindall reports Chris Mepham not quite up to match fitness; hence his late withdrawal. Rico minor thigh strain. Says it accelerates the need to add some bodies.

Brittle as ever in defence.
Faded badly after 70 minutes, looking tired.
Danjuma worldy. Going to be the best player in the Championship, so expect teams to kick lumps out of him.
Kelly block at the death, brilliant.
We’re gonna score one more than you.
Not the best performance, but it’s the start we need.
Top scorers in the league.
In a promotion slot.
Blackburn will be close this season.
