AFC Bournemouth manager Kevin Bond has announced that latest signing Paul Telfer turned down the chance to stay at Celtic, a move to the Premiership with Derby, a return to Southampton and a possible link up with former team mate Neil Lennon at Forest.

Bond told the Daily Echo

‘Gordon Strachan had offered him another year’s contract and, as far as I’m aware, Derby County had enquired about him. I’ve also been told that Nottingham Forest, Coventry and Southampton were interested, but he’d made his mind up that he wanted to come here and I’m absolutely delighted he has chosen us.’

Telfer is set to make his Bournemouth debut against former side Southampton, next week.
