AFC Bournemouth ended a run of three defeats on the trot and should have earned the victory in an entertaining stalemate at Dean Court.
The match saw a home debut for Ben Rix on loan from Crewe, a full debut for Fordyce on loan from Portsmouth and a first league start for youth team sensation Brett Pitman.
Both side’s had chances to open the scoring during the first half with Oldham’s Luke Beckett missing an open goal after he swung his leg and missed the ball completely.
The second half was just as open as the first, but Bournemouth slowly got more and more control of the game and Oldham had their on loan Goalkeeper to thank for the away point.
Lee Grant made saves from Ben Rix, Fordyce and Pitman to frustrate the Cherries in what was a very entertaining game.
