AFC Bournemouth travelled to south Wales and secured a third consecutive clean sheet for the first time in the Premier League.

However despite often dominating possession and a good chance for Joshua King, the visitors were unable to find a break through.

Well that was mind numbingly tedious wasn`t it?

It isn’t high expectations that made us look poor, we just were poor.

We don’t seem able to play with ‘pace and attack’ as much at the moment. As soon as we hit the final 3rd yesterday (and a lot of games this year), we slow everything down and wait for all of their team to be behind the ball and try to break them down.

If that’s our plan it makes sense to use Pugh instead of Fraser, but the game got so stretched towards the end, it was crying out for pace.

Disappointing game,I thought Swansea were there for the taking after losing 5 straight games,no surprises in team selection,Smith taking Francis place.

I thought we were incredibly at times and especially towards the end it didn’t seem like Howe wanted to make positive substitutions ,we were being overrun in midfield at times, head the option of bringing Lewis Cook on but instead on came Gosling who is a shadow of his former self and lost the ball every time it got near him.

Marc Pugh…when is Fraser going to get a game over Pugh,I love him ,club legend and all that but he is a one trick pony and must be the slowest winger in all four divisions, why not gamble with a bit of pace?
Fraser has roasted some of the leagues best full backs and can win penalties and free kicks, also scores one or two
Pugh just slows us down when he cuts back and turns all the time.

Positives….a clean sheet,Ake superb again,Begovic was solid when called upon,Arter had a solid game and looks to be getting back some form,Ibe had a fair game as well, although his decision making was poor again.
Every point is precious in this league I know,I’m just surprised Eddie was so obviously playing for one when three were there for the taking.

Onto Burnley which will be a very tough game, they are very resolute and hard to beat, all the more reason to try and put Swansea to the sword

Disappointing performance but an away point and Eddie will look upon that as job done. We looked laboured and agricultural at times. They were toothless, no real threat.

Swansea totally nullified our attack and we were crying out for someone in midfield to put a foot on the ball and use a bit of invention…Lewis Cook. We also missed Stan.

I see there’s another thread on Lewis so won’t repeat what everyone there must have thought.

That game was winnable but we looked devoid of ideas.

Came away feeling really flat after a disappointing performance against a Swansea side we made look better than they are. Too may below-par performances, too little energy and creativity and for much of the game we looked less committed than a poor home side.

Ake and Cook were again both good, and I thought Surman and King also looked above average. However, we had almost nothing for Callum to feed on, Harry didn’t impose himself and Pugh was well marshalled by a defence that had him worked out for the most part.

Have to disagree with the above comment about Jordon, I thought his decision making was poor and his final pass woeful. How many times did he pass the ball four yards to a Swansea player, four? five?

Thought Benik looked good when he came on, lively and wanting to get involved and make something happen.

Agree about Lewis….seriously, what was the point in bringing him on at that point apart from wasting a few seconds? Is that really all he’s worth?

Finally, the ref. Seemed to give us pretty much every decision. Not seen a replay of the disallowed goal yet, but first impressions were that it looked an even tussle. I think he definitely got the penalty call right. However, the reason we got every decision was that Swansea were incredibly niggly and fouled constantly, it was good to see a ref give that many free kicks. Should have booked more, though, and sent Li off.
