AFC Bournemouth Injury update

It was a huge boost having Lewis Cook back in the last match against Everton and we’re certainly going to have some options when the whole squad is available. However, we have so many out I’ve lost track of who is coming back when so I’ve tried to collate it a bit from snippets online.

Lloyd Kelly – Played for the Under 21s on Tuesday night and pre-international break intimated he hoped to be available for the first team a couple of matches after the break. Possibility for the bench on Friday?

Junior Stanislas – Seems to have gone very quiet given that before the Leicester match Eddie Howe said that hoped he would be available immediately after the international break. Has anyone heard anything since?

Simon Francis – Played for the Under 21s Tuesday night and Eddie Howe said he hoped he would be available after the international break. Another candidate for the bench on Friday.

Arnaut Danjuma – Back training on grass but hasn’t joined the main group yet. Presuming there are no setbacks I’d guess at 2-3 weeks for him to be an option for selection?

David Brooks – On 30/8 Eddie Howe said he was on schedule in his recovery, still expected back around the end of October.

Dan Gosling – As with Brooks, on 30/8 Eddie Howe said he was on schedule in his recovery and still expected back around the end of October.

Adam Smith – Hamstring injury not as serious as first feared and a couple of days ago Eddie Howe said he hoped he would be ‘back soon’. I’m going to guess that means this weekend will be too soon but may be available by the time of the West Ham match.

Charlie Daniels – Out for the season.

That could mean in a couple of weeks we may be down to a mere four players out injured. Oh dear, I think I just cursed us.

Your say…

Lloyd Kelly said in his post-match interview that he was “very close” to being available for first-team selection; whether that means he’ll be fit enough to make the bench for Saints we’ll wait and see. I suppose there won’t be too big of a rush to get him involved if he’s not 100% since he’s unlikely to be coming off of the bench I’d have thought?

Stanislas is a strange one; although you can’t rule out him being on the bench as a surprise inclusion. Though you would think he would have been involved in the U21s game if that were the case?

Excited to see what Danjuma can do once he’s fit and available; our Champions League goalscorer! – Join the conversation, click here.
