Extra tickets for the Cherries exhibition match against nine time European Champions Real Madrid go on general sale this (Tuesday) afternoon.

Over the course of Monday through to Wednesday last week around 4,500 season ticket holders purchased their tickets, with the remainder going on general sale via the Cherries ticket office, the BIC and Pavilion last Thursday.

AFC Bournemouth supporters camped overnight outside the Dean Court ticket office to ensure they were able to get a ticket and the North, East and Main stands sold out within hours.

The Cherries have been working hard to get the new temporary South Stand finished in time for the match and AFC Bournemouth chairman Eddie Mitchell has now revealed that the stand should be open in time for the visit of Real Madrid, with the club selling an additional 2,500 seats from noon.

Mitchell told the Daily Echo

“It is going to be open and tickets will go on sale at noon… If for any reason something happens, then money would be refunded but that would be the case with any of the stands. As far as I am concerned, we are ready and it will be signed-off.”

“A great deal of effort has gone into getting it ready and I am very proud of the team we have got. We have pushed and pushed but that is what I have done all my life and it is nothing new to me. I would think it will sell out quite quickly.”

“We know what we have got to do (to receive a safety certificate) and we won’t have any problems doing it. If we have to work through the night and pull in more men, we will to get it done. It is not a problem…’

AFC Bournemouth will host the Spanish giants on Sunday 21st July.

Kicking off at 7.45pm, Real Madrid superstars Mesut Özil, Kaka and Cristiano Ronaldo will grace the Goldsands Stadium for a one of a kind game against the Cherries.

The nine time European Cup winners will kick off their pre-season schedule on the south coast of England ahead of matches against Olympique Lyonnais, Paris Saint-Germain and its presence at the 2013 International Champions Cup.

Carlo Ancelloti’s men will be showcasing their international pedigree against the newly promoted Cherries, who are set to embark on their first season in the second tier of English football for 23 years.

Fans can purchase tickets over the phone on 0844 576 1910, in person from the AFC Bournemouth ticket office, Bournemouth International Centre and Bournemouth Pavilion and also online from afcbdirect.co.uk.
